Two men seriously injured following early morning stabbing at Blackhorse Luas stop

Two men have been rushed to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a stabbing incident at a Luas stop this morning.

The incident happened at around 6am at the Blackhorse Luas stop and both men were taken to St James's hospital, with one believed to be in critical condition.

A man has been arrested in connection and is currently being detained at Kilmainham garda station.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Two men were stabbed this morning at the Blackhorse Luas stop. The incident took place at around 6am. Both men were taken to St James's Hospital.

"A man has been detained in connection with the incident and is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Kilmainham garda station."

The incident is believed to be connected to a party that was held nearby.

The Blackhorse Luas stop remained closed for some time this morning, affecting services heading outbound. It re-opened just after 7am.

It was then closed again due to garda directive, but has since been re-opened.
